Shabbatonim (Retreats)
As special as the air is in Jerusalem, it is sometimes nice to leave the city and go away for a Shabbat together as a community. These retreats include a tiyul (day trip – hike or visit to a site), tefillot, and discussions relevant to the community, as well as a lot of singing at the Shabbat table.
Last spring Kehillat Mayanot went to Kibbutz Hannaton in the Galilee for a Shabbat. During Hannukah, we headed south to Kibbutz Qeturah.
Many members of the kehillah also participate in the Masorti Movement’s Family Camp at the end of the summer: a week at Kibbutz Hannaton with activities for the whole family and day trips in the area.
